The Time We Spend

“My theory on housework is, if the item doesn’t multiply, smell, catch fire, or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one else cares. Why should you?”

Erma Bombeck (1927 –  1996)

My wish, so close to Mother’s Day is that every woman on earth be in a position to hire a house keeper! At the very least she should be able to hire someone who could keep up with their house work for them.

House work is so repetitive! It is such a waste of time! Once complete, it has to be started all over again, from the very beginning.

I understand why some of my friends turn a blind eye to their dust, piled up laundry, un-vacuumed rugs and unkempt rooms. There’s too much to do, too little time and too many more important things to accomplish with one’s life than the sheer tedious tasks of keeping their house in order.

I agree with Erma and protest the mundane and celebrate every woman’s privilege to bring in outside help so they have more than enough time to work on all of those special projects that make their days worthwhile!

Here’s to having more fun and less work!
