Dreams

“When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go.”

Carol Burnet (1933 – )

When I was a little girl, I had dreams of flying. I would imagine being able to soar above the earth and see all the world. I could witness people from every country simply by blinking my eyes and appearing in that country, flying just high enough I could see what they were doing, but they never noticed me.

I loved the feeling of feeling that free. I would look forward to going asleep every night in hopes having the dream.

As I grew older I still had the dreams, but the theme became me always rescuing everyone in the dream.

Years later I heard a dream interpreter on a radio interview. I decided to call in and ask about the dream. She told me it was from my childhood and how I felt responsible for my family.

When most children have dreams they are about what they will become when they grew grow or about playing in a candy store.

The results of my dreams as a child has come full circle and it has worked to inspire me.

As an adult, my dream is to create a safe environment for the children who have been left to their own devices. There are millions of children living on the streets because their homes are too challenging, or they don’t even have a home to go to.

My dream is to give those children the proper education and a safe nurturing environment so they can follow their dreams.
